Ceramic Coating After Care

Investing in a Gyeon ceramic coating for your vehicle is not just about achieving an immediate gloss and shine—it's about long-term protection and maintenance of your car's stunning appearance. To maximize the benefits of your Gyeon ceramic coating, it's essential to follow our expert maintenance routine, designed to ensure its longevity and efficacy.

The First 14 Days

The Curing Process

After the application of your Gyeon ceramic coating, it's crucial to allow it to cure properly. Avoid washing your car within the first 14 days from the coating application. During this time, the coating is still vulnerable and requires special care to avoid potential damage.

The Do's and Don'ts of Ceramic Coating

DO wash and dry your car once it is cool and out of direct sunlight.

DO use Gyeon maintenance products like Q2M Bathe+/Wetcoat/Cure at least once per month.

DO schedule a service every 24 months or 15,000 miles with your Gyeon Certified Detailer for an inspection. (10 Year Coatings ONLY)

DO NOT wash your car using automatic car washes.

DO NOT let contaminants like bird droppings remain on the surface.

DO NOT expose to acidic, caustic chemicals or other contaminants.

How to Wash Your Car at Home

  1. Pre-Wash: Use Q2M Bug&Grime on surfaces with bug splatter or oily films. Apply Q2M Foam using a foam lance (optional) to loosen dirt, then rinse.
  2. Wheels & Tires: Ensure they're cool before starting. Use Q2M Iron WheelCleaner and brushes specifically designed for wheels.
  3. Wash & Decontamination: Use the two-bucket method with Q2M Bathe.
  4. Soft-Protection: To enhance hydrophobicity and gloss, use Q2M Cure or Q2M WetCoat during your routine wash.
  5. Drying: Use specific drying towels like Q2M SilkDryer or Q2M WaffleDryer without applying pressure.

Recommended Wash Methods

  • Maintenance washes with your Gyeon Certified Detailer
  • Hand car wash
  • Touchless car wash
  • Home based hand wash

GYEON, the manufacturer of our ceramic coatings, recommends washing the vehicle every two weeks/650 miles.

Troubleshooting for Special Cases

  • Swirls & Scratches: May be caused by improper washing or drying techniques. Follow the guide closely to avoid damage.
  • Waterspots: Use Q2M WaterSpot for fresh marks and Q2M Cure to restore hydrophobicity. For older marks, seek professional assistance.
  • Contamination: If wash routine or chemical decontamination does not remove contaminants, consult your GYEON Certified Detailer.
  • Tree Sap & Tar: Use Q2M Tar or 70% Isopropyl alcohol for safe removal, applying it to a clean, damp vehicle, and using Q2M SilkMitt to wipe the areas with low pressure.

Maintaining your ceramic coating durability requires adherence to recommended procedures. By following this guide, you can keep your coated vehicle looking its best for years to come.
